About This Course
About the course
Adabi Club’s Grade 1 Arabic course is built on our own original curriculum, designed for children across the Arab world and beyond. We believe children learn their language through understanding and practice, not rote memorisation, so every lesson follows three clear steps: I show you, we practise together, then you try on your own.
What will your child learn?
- The complete Arabic alphabet: each letter’s sound, shape and forms at the beginning, middle and end of a word.
- Short and long sounds: fatha, damma and kasra, together with the long vowels alif, waw and yaa for every letter, because telling them apart is the foundation of accurate reading.
- Sukun, shadda, tanween, and sun and moon letters: introduced gradually once the letters are secure.
- Reading: from syllables to words to sentences, until your child reads short texts in the final stage of the year.
- Writing and handwriting: forming each letter in Naskh script step by step, with graded spelling practice.
- Vocabulary: carefully chosen words from the child’s own world, revisited and built on in later lessons.
- Listening and speaking: short stories and questions that encourage understanding and correct expression.
How we teach
- A character for every letter: each letter has its own hero named after its long sounds, like Baboobi the duck for baa and Tatooti the little crocodile for taa, so children remember the sounds while they play.
- Clear video lessons: recorded explanations your child can replay as often as needed.
- Interactive exercises: drag and drop, matching, listening discrimination and quizzes with instant feedback, so children see and fix their mistakes straight away.
- Questions that build thinking: from simple recall to understanding and inference, matched to each child’s level.
- Learning at the right pace: every child moves forward at their own speed and repeats what they need until they master it.
Who is this course for?
Children in their first school year, or any child starting to read and write in Arabic, wherever they live. All you need is a device with an internet connection and a little parental support at the start.
